Robert Wooldridge, OD, FAAO

After graduating from the Indiana University School of Optometry, Dr. Wooldridge joined the staff of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine. U.S. News & World Report has ranked Bascom Palmer as the #1 eye hospital and Department of Ophthalmology in the United States more than 21 times.

Today, Dr. Wooldridge treats a wide range of ocular diseases at his Murray office with an emphasis on glaucoma management. He has been devoted to the care of his patients across the Wasatch Front since 1985. He joined The Eye Foundation of Utah in 1988 and is now the Owner and Director. 


AWARD WINNING CARE

Dr. Wooldridge is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the Utah and American Optometric Associations. He has been certified by the American Board of Optometry. He is also a founding member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society, a national organization of doctors specializing in glaucoma research and care. 

Dr. Wooldridge's colleagues have named him Optometrist of the Year for the Utah Optometric Association twice in recognition of his leadership in optometric education. 


In 2023, the President of the American Optometric Association honored Dr. Wooldridge with the President’s Award in recognition of his distinguished service to optometry.


A STATEWIDE LEADER IN OPTOMETRY

In 2017, Dr. Wooldridge was appointed by the Governor of Utah to the Optometry Licensing Board for the Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing. He now serves as Chairman of the Licensing Board. 



Dr. Wooldridge is also a Past-President and former Board Member of the Utah Optometric Association and the Mountain West Council of Optometrists, a regional council providing continuing education to doctors across the U.S.


AN ESTEEMED EDUCATOR

As an Adjunct Clinical Professor at several schools of Optometry, Dr. Wooldridge directs the clinical instruction program at The Eye Foundation, providing advanced experience in the field of medical eye care to interns from across the U.S. and Canada. He has presented thousands of lectures throughout the U.S. and elsewhere to Optometric Physicians on the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases.
